It's always a joy to see otters at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, and today, I was really fortunate to see a family of them!
The otter that one can regularly see at Sungei Buloh is the Smooth Otter (Lutrogale perspicillata). This otter species is the largest in Southeast Asia. It got its common name from the smooth coat of fur which looked rather shiny sometimes.
Here's part of the family resting on a pit made by Nparks officers. Apparently, this was the first time that they used it!
This otter was probably looking us, who were busy taking photos of it.
One of the otters decide to use another's back as a pillow :P
And then, it suddenly yawned and rest its head against the other otter. Super cute :)
A few of them decided to go for a swim in Sungei Buloh Besar for a meal. They were really good fish-hunters!
Here's another one with a fish in its mouth.
Munch munch munch...
I can only say that I never get tired of seeing these cute animals!
