Another Day of Workshop at Sungei Buloh

I was at Sungei Buloh again today to conduct a workshop for some primary school students. Due to the tight schedule, I did not managed to take many photos. Here are some of the interesting things I saw which I managed to capture on photo.


While waiting for the students to arrive, I went to the main bridge for a quick look, and saw this Stork-billed Kingfisher (Pelargopsis capensis). This is the biggest resident kingfisher in Singapore.


I managed to take a few photos of the fruit of the Berembang (Sonneratia caseolaris). It's been almost a month, but the fruit was hardly mature yet.


The students soon arrived, and during the break time, we saw this pretty little Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker (Dicaeum cruentatum) feeding on the fruits of a Buah Cheri Tree (Muntingia calabura). It feeds on small fruits and nectar, and sometimes insects too.


Here's the flowerpecker again. It finally managed to pull the fruit off the branch.


On our way out of the reserve, we saw several flower buds on the Mangrove Trumpet Tree (Dolichandrone spathacea). Guess they will probably bloom tonight!

Well, while I did not managed to take many photos, it was still a very enjoyable day with several nice sightings!
